Bridge School benefit nabs Petty, Dave Matthews Band, others
The line-up for the 14th Annual Bridge School Benefit concert will include event mainstay Neil Young as well as Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Dave Matthews Band , Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beck , Foo Fighters and Tegan & Sara, promoters announced.
The concerts--which have traditionally featured acoustic performances--are scheduled to take place on Oct. 28 and 29 at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, Calif., a city located between San Jose and San Francisco. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale at 10 a.m. on Sunday (9/24).
Beck had announced his plans to play at the Bridge School Benefit through his official website in August, but none of the other acts on the bill had been confirmed previously.
The concert benefits the Bridge School, which was founded in 1986 by Neil Young's wife Pegi and Jim Forderer--two parents of children with severe speech and physical impairments--and by Dr. Marilyn Buzolich, the founder and director of Augmentative Communications and Technology Services. The school serves severely speech-impaired children throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
