Oasis heads to China

Oasis will play its first-ever shows in China this spring as part of the group's current world tour, according to a statement on the band's website.

The brothers Gallagher will perform April 3 at the Beijing Capital Gym and April 5 at the Shanghai Grand Stage, in addition to their previously announced Hong Kong show scheduled for April 7 at the AsiaWorld Arena. Ticketing information is available on the Oasis website.

Oasis has been nominated for seven NME Awards this year, including Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best Album for "Dig Out Your Soul," and Best Video for "The Shock of the Lightning." The 2009 NME Awards will take place at London's Brixton Academy on Feb. 25.
