Philadelphia native Alecia Moore was given the nickname Pink as a small child. Surrounded by a musical family, she began writing songs and performing her own material in local clubs by age 14.

She had a double-platinum debut album under her belt by the year 2000. "Can't Take Me Home" produced three Top Ten singles. In 2001, she found success again with her single "Get The Party Started," from her second album, "Missundaztood."

Pink's new album, titled "Funhouse," might spawn images of an amusement park or even inspire a craving for cotton candy, but the two-time Grammy winner is the antithesis of spun sugar and fluff. She's known for her outspoken lyrics, her rejection of the typical celebrity scene, and her animal rights activism with P.E.T.A.

Ms. Moore will be touring Europe and Australia in support of her new album beginning in February, but no North American dates have been announced as yet.

Two years ago, Pink's "I'm Not Dead" tour kicked-off at the Fillmore in San Francisco, and here are some of the photos I took of the show.
