Travis Barker talks about surviving September plane crash

Travis Barker , who survived a Sept. 19 plane crash, recently spoke with Us Weekly magazine about his fear of flying and the accident in which two pilots and two other passengers were killed.

"I hate planes," Barker reportedly said in the interview. "My biggest fear ever is to be involved in a plane crash, so when that happened ... well, I'm just thankful to be alive!"

The 32-year-old former Blink-182 drummer was released from a Georgia hospital last week with second and third-degree burns from his feet up to his waist and on both his hands. He traveled by bus to Los Angeles where he is now being treated at a burn center.

"I am doing the best I can possibly be," he said. "I'm so anxious to get out of here ... I've been in surgery after surgery."

Barker said he hopes to have a quick recovery and be able to hold his kids again. He expects to be released from the hospital within two weeks.

DJ AM, who also suffered injuries in the plane crash, recently was released from the hospital. Doctors have said they expect both men to fully recover.
