Soul Train Honors Mary J. Blige, Destiny's Child, Others

Mary J. Blige , Destiny’s Child and Angie Stone dominated Soul Train’s sixth annual Lady of Soul awards Saturday night (9/2) in California. The artists scored two wins each to walk away with a combined total of six of the ceremony’s nine awards.

Destiny’s Child grabbed the Best R&B/Soul Single - Group, Band or Duo award for the song “Say My Name.” The track is featured on the trio’s “The Writing’s on the Wall” album, which was crowned R&B/Soul Album of the Year - Group, Band or Duo.

The award for R&B/Soul Album of the Year - Solo , meanwhile, went to Blige for her disc “Mary.” That album’s “All That I Can Say” took the honor for R&B/Soul or Rap Song of the Year.

Stone’s song “No More Rain (In This Cloud)” won in both the Best R&B/Soul Single - Solo and Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist - Solo categories.

The remaining awards went to Yolanda Adams , Mary Mary and Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot.
