Jay-Z and Stargate launch label and publishing company
Jay-Z and Grammy-nominated production duo Stargate have formed a new label and publishing company, StarRoc Music Publishing. It is the first partnership Jay-Z has launched with Roc Nation, his official venture with Live Nation.
With the new StarRoc venture, Stargate, comprised of Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen, and Jay-Z will focus on finding new talent and developing artists through mutually beneficial global partnerships that include music distribution, publishing, touring and merchandising.
The new division, based in New York, will partner with artists to manage their diverse rights, expand their fan bases and provide a direct connection to fans through Live Nation's established distribution and marketing channels, according to a press release.
