Oasis unveils new singles on New York City streets

Taking a fresh approach to an album debut, Oasis organized the performance of four singles from the British band's Oct. 7 release, "Dig Out Your Soul," on the streets of New York City last Friday (9/12.) Spectators took in "Bag It Up," "The Turning," "(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady" and "The Shock of the Lightning," performed by an array of street musicians on subway platforms including Grand Central, Times Square, Penn Station and Astor Place.

Sponsored by Warner Bros. Records and NYC & Company (the city's marketing, tourism and partnership organization), the innovative exhibition preceded the upcoming Tuesday (9/16) release of downloadable sheet music and vocal melodies of the four tracks from the band's website, as well as the official drop of the first single, "The Shock of the Lightning," due Sept. 29.
