Paul McCartney to play Israel decades after Beatles ban

Paul McCartney will perform in Tel Aviv this month, 43 years after government officials banned the Beatles, saying the group and its "strident, amplified music could corrupt the morals of Israeli youth," according to Israel newsite Haaretz.

McCartney's Sept. 25 concert at Park Hayarkon reportedly was confirmed last week by his manager Barry Marshall, who approved the venue even though it does not include the 250,000 seats the performer requires, according to the Haaretz report.

McCartney's current world tour is expected to be his last large-scale outing because the superstar wants to settle down and spend more time with his daughter Beatrice, according to England's Sunday Mirror.
