Emmylou Harris cancels shows after death in family

Emmylou Harris has canceled four tour dates--Aug. 2 through Aug. 6--due to a family emergency. Harris suffered a death in the family and was heading to Nashville last week to make funeral arrangements and take care of other business, according to a Tulsa World report.

The performer was scheduled to appear Aug. 2 at the Paolo Soleri amphitheater in Santa Fe, NM; Aug. 3 at the Brady Theater in Tulsa, OK; Aug. 5 at The Majestic in Dallas; and Aug. 6 at Stubb's in Austin.

Promoter Larry Shaeffer said he hoped to reschedule the Brady Theater show, the news outlet reported. However, no official word regarding new dates have been posted on Harris' website.
