Meet Glen Campbell . . . Again
Glen Campbell is releasing a new covers album dubbed "Meet Glen Campbell" that includes reinterpreted versions of Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)," Foo Fighters' "Times Like These," U2's "All I Want Is You," John Lennon's "Grow Old With Me" and "The Velvet Underground's "Jesus," among others.
The album, scheduled for release Aug. 19, also features several guest artists including Cheap Trick's Robin Zander, Chris Chaney from Jane's Addiction, and Roger Joseph Manning, Jr. and Jason Faulkner from Jellyfish, according to a press release.
The album will be released digitally, on CD and on limited edition vinyl.
Campbell began his career in the mid-'60s, playing guitar on recordings by several top-notch artists including Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys and The Righteous Brothers. Campbell stepped out as a solo artist in 1967 and went on to record numerous hits including "Gentle On My Mind," "By The Time I Get To Phoenix," "Wichita Lineman," and "Galveston." He also hosted a popular television variety show, "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour," from 1969-72.
