Briefly: Pearl Jam, ChangeMusic San Francisco, Chicago Rap Show Postponed, Spinal Tap, Perry Farrell

Pearl Jam is forbidding fans to bring blankets into its shows because some audience members were using them as trampolines and hurting themselves.

CMJ is sponsoring ChangeMusic San Francisco, a "four-day music and technology conference/festival," from Sept. 14-17. Featured acts include Mos Def, Creeper Lagoon, Mark Eitzel, Talib Kweli and Imperial Teen.

The Chicago Tribune reported that the Chicago-area Labor Day Jam 2000--featuring Lil' Kim, Nelly and Eve, among others--has been "postponed for 90 days and is expected to be moved to another location." Tickets will be honored at the new show, or can be returned for a refund.

VH1 will air "Where Are They Now?: Spinal Tap " on September 6.

Perry Farrell will release his next album, "The Diamond Jubilee," early next year. The album was originally due last April or May, but Farrell is still working on it, according to Virgin.

The last two Los Angeles-area music venues in which liveDaily Briefly saw shows--including the Roxy in West Hollywood--contain a screen that ceaselessly flashes motion video ads for things like HBO's "Sex in the City." If it hasn't come to your city yet, it will.

This just occurred to liveDaily Briefly: you know how now, when you're put on hold when you're on the phone, there's an ad that you have to endure? Imagine what's going to happen with the advent of videophones. Imagine how telemarketing will evolve. Maybe the upcoming market crash will slow things down. Sorry, it's Monday.
