Creed To Play Make-up Dates In Michigan Next Month
Creed , currently in the midst of its North American tour in support of “Human Clay,” was forced to postpone two shows last week after touring bassist Brett Hestla injured his hand, according to a spokesperson for the group. Hestla has been filling the vacancy left by the departure of original bassist Brian Marshall.
The shows, originally scheduled for Aug. 18 and Aug. 19 at the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Auburn Hills, Mich., were pushed back to Sept. 7 and Sept. 9. Tickets to the Aug. 18 show will be honored on Sept. 7, and tickets to the Aug. 19 show will be honored on Sept. 9, according to statement released by the venue. Refunds are available at the point of purchase through Saturday (8/26), the statement said.
Days of the New and American Pearl are set to open the make-up shows, according to the Creed's official website. 3 Doors Down was scheduled with American Pearl as the show-opener on the original performance dates, but will be on a European tour of its own in September.
Hestla, who is the lead singer for Atlantic Records act Virgos, was tapped by Creed to play bass after the band announced earlier this month that Marshall was leaving the group to pursue other interests. Details of Hestla’s injury were not available.
The group resumed its tour as scheduled on Tuesday night (8/22) in Massachusetts, and is scheduled to play in New Jersey on both Friday (8/25) and Saturday (8/26) nights. After playing the two make-up dates next month, the group has a break scheduled until Sept. 22, when the tour will resume with Collective Soul in the opening slot. Creed recently added two late-September shows in New Mexico, and two early-October shows in Texas. The band’s tour is currently scheduled to run until Oct. 9.
“Human Clay,” Creed’s second album, was certified quintuple-platinum by the RIAA last month after shipping 5 million copies. The album sits at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart this week.
[3 Doors Down was listed as the opening act for the make-up dates on Pine Knob Music Theatre's official website when this story was originally published on Aug. 25. liveDaily corrected the opening act information in this story on Aug. 30].
