Lawyer Says Britney Spears Not Fit For Court

Britney Spears is not yet fit to take part in upcoming court proceedings for her conservatorship case. Spears' court-appointed attorney, Samuel Ingham, told a Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner yesterday (5/29) it could be "harmful" for the 26-year-old performer to participate in the case because her medical condition is "fluid" due to changing treatments, according to The Associated Press.

Ingham and attorneys for the pop star's father and conservator, James Spears, reportedly spent 90 minutes in Commissioner Reva Goetz' chambers discussing the probate case, scheduled to go to trial July 31. Goetz agreed with Ingham, saying Spears' diagnosis is not complete.

Spears and her estate have been under the conservatorship of her father for four months.
