New Documentary About The Beatles' "Love"
A new feature-length documentary, "All Together Now," detailing the story behind the stage production of The Beatles ' "Love" by Cirque du Soleil is set to be released June 24 on DVD, according to a press release.
"All Together Now" recounts how George Harrison and Cirque founder Guy Laliberte began to explore the fusion of Cirque's artistry and The Beatles' music to create "Love," an original production that plays excursively at The Mirage in Las Vegas.
The film's director, Adrian Wills, recorded early meetings between the Cirque and Apple Corps Ltd. creative teams, as well as contributions from Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison.
In addition to the development stages of the project, the film highlights the contributions of musical directors George and Giles Martin, who created the "Love" soundscape from The Beatles' original multi-track recordings at the group's Abby Road Studios in London.
The "All Together Now" DVD includes several bonus features including a behind-the-scenes look at show's unique audio design, art direction, costumes, props, screen imagery and the use of The Beatles' voices in the "Love" stage production and its soundtrack.
