Elton John's Oscar Party Raises Millions For AIDS Foundation

Elton John 's 16th annual Academy Awards viewing party raised a record breaking $5.1 million for his AIDS Foundation, according to a press release.

The annual gala continues to be the leading fund-raising event in Hollywood on Oscar night, which was Feb. 24 this year. John performed with his band during the party, in addition to performances by special guests Mary J. Blige and Jack Shears of Scissor Sisters.

The high-profile guest list included Prince, Billy Joel, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Sean Combs, Jeremy Piven, Larry King, Josh Groban, Sean Penn, Seal and Heidi Klum, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi, and Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford.

Elton John AIDS Foundation was established in 1992 by Founder and Chairman Sir Elton John. The foundation has raised more than $125 million to support HIV/AIDS prevention and service programs in 55 countries around the globe.
