Page, Black Crowes Tour Shuts Down After Guitarist Injured
Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes have postponed all remaining August dates of their tour due to back injuries suffered by Jimmy Page, according to a publicist for the Black Crowes.
In a brief statement issued on Monday evening (8/14), the acts said that they would attempt to reschedule as many of the eight affected shows as possible before launching the third leg of their tour on September 23rd in West Palm Beach, FL.
The second leg of the tour kicked off on Saturday (8/12) in Albuquerque, NM, and Page taped a performance of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" with the Black Crowes on Monday afternoon before the postponements were announced. It wasn't immediately known how or when Page became injured.
The Page-Crowes tour is part of a tour package created by tour producer SFX in which tour dates are booked in tandem with Who concert dates in nearly every U.S. market in order to share staging and crew, significantly cutting tour expenses.
The Who was performing its first California show on Monday evening as scheduled and was not expected to reschedule any of its West Coast shows as a result of the Page-Crowes postponements.
Refund information was not available at press time, pending the announcement of rescheduled Page-Crowes dates.
