Kenny Chesney Tours Ahead Of Greatest Hits Release
Kenny Chesney , who is riding a streak of two consecutive platinum albums, will be focusing his touring efforts on the fair circuit through mid-October. After that, he will take his show to indoor venues, mostly in the southern U.S.
The country singer is laying the groundwork for the Sept. 26 release of a new greatest hits album. The album will also feature five new songs, including the single “I Lost It.”
Each of Chesney’s last two albums--1999’s “Everywhere We Go” and 1997’s “I Will Stand”--have sold more than a million copies. His career has been gaining momentum since he toured with the George Strait Country Music Festival in 1999. He returned to the tour again in 2000, an endeavor that exposed him to more than 500,000 fans.
In addition to his busy touring schedule, Chesney has a date in a Buffalo, N.Y., courtroom on Dec. 7 to answer to charges stemming from a June 3 arrest for disorderly conduct. Chesney is accused of taking a sheriff’s deputy’s horse without permission; fellow country singer Tim McGraw is accused of attacking the officers who apprehended Chesney.
