Ladytron lines up co-headlining tour with The Faint
Electronic-pop act Ladytron has lined up a spring North American co-headlining tour with indie dance-punks The Faint.
The Liverpool-based quartet and the Nebraska-bred New Wave revivalists kick off the 23-city outing April 1 in Milwaukee, WI. The two groups will switch off headlining duties each night, and both will be joined by FIGO, who will handle DJ duties for the entire evening. Details are included below.
Ladytron recorded "Velocifero"--the band's fourth studio album and its follow-up to 2005's "Witching Hour"--in the Paris facility Studio de la Grande Armée, where Duran Duran recorded its iconic '80s breakthrough hit, "Rio." The group worked with co-producers Alessandro Cortini (Nine Inch Nails, Modwheelmood) and Andy Gardiner (Vicarious Bliss) on the set, which surfaced last June.
In early March, the band will release a new EP titled "Tomorrow," built around the "Velocifero" track of the same name. The six-track EP features remixes of the song by Jim Abbiss (Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys), Dirty Vegas, Great Northern and others.
Recently, Ladytron has been working in a recording studio with Christina Aguilera on material for her next album, according to the band's publicist.
"We've got a few songs for her [next album]," the group's Reuben Wu told a BBC Radio 1 interviewer recently. "Right now we're still in the studio. One song is a cover of [Ladyhawke's] "My Delirium." It's all very interesting work, and new ground for all of us involved."
The Faint continues to support last year's "Fasciinatiion," the band's sixth full-length studio effort.
