Bruce Springsteen unfurls busy tour slate

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, who are coming off of a packed 2008 schedule, won't be slowing things down in 2009.

Springsteen's camp today (1/27) released a schedule that includes 23 North American and 18 overseas stops.

Tickets for most North American shows will go on sale Feb. 2; details are in the itinerary below.

The tour, which gets underway April 1 in San Jose, CA, supports the new album from Springsteen and the E Street Band, "Working on a Dream," which hit stores today. The North American leg concludes in Springsteen's home base of New Jersey, with May 21 and 23 gigs at East Rutherford's Izod Center.

The international dates get underway May 30 at Holland's Pink Pop fest, and conclude Aug. 2 in Spain.

"Working on a Dream," the follow up to 2007's platinum-certified "Magic," is Springsteen's 24th album. The set--his fourth to feature producer Brendan O'Brien behind the knobs--features 12 new Springsteen compositions and two bonus tracks.

Springsteen's new album and tour will get a huge promotional boost on Feb. 1, when he performs during the halftime show at Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa, FL.

The Boss made another high-profile appearance during the inaugural festivities for President Barack Obama when he teamed with U2, Stevie Wonder, Garth Brooks and other big-name acts for a free, inaugural-kickoff concert in Washington, DC.
