Morrissey plots US return

Morrissey has unveiled his first batch of spring dates in support of his forthcoming new studio album, "Years of Refusal."

The singer/songwriter will return to the US in March for the first time in more than a year, kicking off a slate of shows below the Mason-Dixon line March 1 in Orlando, FL. The eight-city trek will precede a more extensive UK and European outing that runs into early July.

US dates are below, and Morrissey's overseas dates can be found at his website. Tickets for all of the singer's American shows are currently on sale.

The forthcoming shows mark a change in policy for the performer, who announced through his publicist last fall that his then-current slate of fall shows would be his last "for the foreseeable future." Morrissey had just completed a 21-month-long world tour when he issued the statement.

Since then, the singer has changed both his management and his British record label, leaving Sanctuary Records to sign a new deal with Decca to release his latest set, "Years of Refusal." The album, Morrissey's ninth as a solo artist, is due out Feb. 16.

The album was produced by the late Jerry Finn (AFI, Bad Religion), who suffered a cerebral hemorrhage not long after the record's completion. Finn died at the age of 39 in August soon after being taken off life support.

Morrissey's previous studio album, "Ringleader of the Tormentors," saw light in 2006.
