Album Chart: AC/DC stays charged at No. 1
Despite its distribution being limited to two retailers and the band's own website, rock stalwarts AC/DC's latest album, "Black Ice," will spend its second week at the top of the US chart.
After blasting out the gate with first-week sales of almost 800,000 copies, "Black Ice" cracked the 1 million marking by logging sales of about 271,000 copies during its second week in stores, enough to hang on to the No. 1 slot on The Billboard 200. (Billboard bases its flagship chart on Nielsen SoundScan retail data.) The album is available exclusively via Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and through AC/DC's website.
The sustained popularity of "Black Ice" helped the album ward off the latest album from Pink , whose "Funhouse" debuts at No. 2 with sales of about 180,000 copies.
Meanwhile, the "High School Musical 3" soundtrack slips one rung to No. 3 with second-week sales of about 162,000 copies, John Legend 's "Evolver" debuts at No. 4 with sales of about 133,000 copies and Toby Keith 's "That Don't Make Me a Bad Guy" bows at No. 5 with sales of about 91,000 copies, according to Billboard.
Rounding out the Top 10 are: Rascal Flatts ' "Greatest Hits Volume 1" at No. 6 with 89,000 copies sold; T.I. 's "Paper Trail" at No. 7 with 77,000 copies; Celine Dion 's "My Love: Essential Collection" at No. 8 with 57,000 copies, Snow Patrol 's "A Hundred Million Suns" at No. 9 with 48,000 copies; and Kenny Chesney 's "Lucky Old Sun," which drops from No. 4 to No. 10 on sales of about 41,000 copies.
