K.D. Lang brings 'Watershed' moments into 2009

K.D. Lang has started to build up a tour schedule for next year on top of the current headlining tour behind her latest studio set, "Watershed."

The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter, who launched a fall concert run last week in Nashville, continues her fall outing tomorrow night (10/30) in North Bethesda, MD, and starts off 2009 with a March 21 show in Spokane, WA. Dates are below.

"Watershed," which Lang recorded in California and self-produced, is the singer's 10th studio album and first set of all-new material since 2000's "Invincible Summer." The album, featuring 11 new Lang compositions, hit stores in February, debuting at No. 8 on The Billboard 200.

"Watershed is like a culmination of everything I've done--there's a little bit of jazz, a little country, a little of the Ingénue sound, a little Brazilian touch," Lang explained in her bio. "It really feels like the way I hear music, this mash-up of genres, and I think it reflects all the styles that have preceded this in my catalogue."

A few songs from the record are streaming at the singer's MySpace page.

Lang's previous studio set is 2004's "Hymns of the 49th Parallel," which featured covers of songs originally sung by various natives of the singer's home country of Canada, including material by Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. Her previous set of all-new material before "Watershed" was 2000's "Invincible Summer."
