Hole Announces Spring Theatre Tour, Sets Weekend Ticket Releases
Hole has established their own tour in the wake of their aborted attempt to play arenas with Marilyn Manson. The theatre outing will take an initial route beginning in Cincinnati, dipping into Florida and working up the East Coast before closing the loop in Detroit. Tickets for eight stops on the tour are currently set for sale on Friday and Saturday (4/10-11).
Courtney Love, the outspoken frontwoman of the band, said that she was eager to play in front of smaller crowds upon exiting the arena-level trappings of the Manson / Hole tour. Hole pulled out of that tour in mid-March after behind-the-scenes tensions between both headliners began erupting into on-stage attacks.
Officially, the split has been blamed on a badly negotiated split of production costs, since Manson's stage show reportedly produced most of that overhead.
Manson has carried on, initially with opening act Jack Off Jill and now with Nashville Pussy taking on opening duties. Monster Magnet, who signed on for the tour when Hole was still involved, finished out their run this week and will jump directly to their next outing with Metallica, beginning in Hawaii on April 11th.
Hole has not yet announced any support acts for their tour.
