Cheech & Chong roll up dates for next year

Cheech & Chong will continue their comeback into 2009, with the veteran comedy duo announcing a raft of new dates extending their current tour into next February.
The pair--Tommy Chong and Richard "Cheech" Marin--kicked off their first concert run together in more than 25 years last month. The duo continues the outing Saturday (10/18) in Las Vegas, with the newly added leg kicking off Jan. 2 in Uncasville, CT. Details are below.
Chong's wife, Shelby, will open for the pair with her own standup routine. Details are below.
Cheech & Chong--who released nine comedy albums between 1972 and 1985, along with eight feature films, including the surprise 1978 box-office hit "Up in Smoke"--originally broke up in the '80s amid creative differences. Marin told the Associated Press that the pair has tried to reunite in the past, but always ended up fighting too much with each other.
"It takes about 3 minutes for that to happen. There's this veiled hatred," he said. "We've kind of resolved that. We've gotten to the age where we don't feel like fighting anymore because the end is a lot closer than the beginning."
Marin has spent most of his time since the breakup working in Hollywood and making frequent appearances in movies and television, while Chong has resumed his stand-up comedy career after serving eight months in prison in 2003 and 2004 for selling drug paraphernalia over the Internet.
