My Brightest Diamond, Clare & The Reasons team up
My Brightest Diamond and Clare & The Reasons--both up-and-coming indie acts led by female singer/songwriters--will strike out on the road together this fall.
The two acts will kick off a 31-city stretch Oct. 27 in Hamden, CT. The tour will hit small theaters and large nightclubs throughout the country, winding down in mid-December with a run of East Coast shows. Details are below.
Led by singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Shara Worden, New York's My Brightest Diamond is influenced by "artists such as Tricky, French composer Maurice Ravel and Tom Waits," according to the band's online bio.
The group has released two albums on the Sufjan Stevens-associated Asthmatic Kitty label, including June's "A Thousand Shark's Teeth."
Six-piece indie outfit Clare & The Reasons feature singer/songwriter Clare Muldaur. The Brooklyn-based group, which also includes in its lineup Muldaur's husband, Olivier Manchon, released its debut album, "The Movie," last fall.
A few of the band's songs can be heard streaming at Muldaur's website.
