Feist maps fall tour to fight hunger
Singer/songwriter Feist will give her fans the opportunity to help those in need on her upcoming tour when she partners with several charities on a continent-spanning food drive.
The Canadian singer, who kicks off the run in her home country Oct. 14 in Penticton, British Columbia, is asking fans to bring non-perishable food items to all of the tour's venues.
In addition, all proceeds raised from souvenir sales during the 13-city tour will go to CARE Canada, Doctors Without Borders and War Child Canada. Dates are below; more information on the charity aspect of the tour can be found at Feist's website.
Feist continues to back last year's "The Reminder," which she pieced together while on a 33-month tour behind her previous album, 2004's "Let It Die," according to her online biography.
Earlier this year, the singer became the first Canadian Shortlist Prize winner, joining Irish singer Damien Rice and Iceland's Sigur Ros as non-US winners of the award, which previously has been given to Sufjan Stevens, NERD and TV on the Radio. Other finalists this year selected from an initial list of 54 nominees included Burial, Justice, LCD Soundsystem, M.I.A., Stars and Working for a Nuclear Free City.
Feist--who was nominated in four Grammy categories this year but came home empty-handed from the February award ceremonies--won five Juno awards, the Canadian Grammy equivalent, in April, including wins for Artist of the Year and Album of the Year.
