Punk quartet Against Me! [ tickets ] and indie rockers Ted Leo [ tickets ] and The Pharmacists are set to join forces on a late-year co-headlining tour beginning later this month

The two bands will be joined by Welsh alt-rockers Future of the Left on the trek, which kicks off Sept. 30 in Birmingham, AL. The 25-date tour runs through late October; both Against Me! and Leo and his band will fit in a few headlining dates during the shared run. Details are below.

Florida-based Against Me! continues to support last year's "New Wave," its fourth studio effort and major-label debut. The set, produced by alt-rock heavyweight Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins), has spawned modern rock hits "Thrash Unreal" and "Stop."

The video for the album's latest single, the title track, was just released and is streaming at Against Me!'s MySpace page. The group also recently dropped the five-song "New Wave B-Sides" digital EP, which is available at Amazon.com.

Leo and the Pharmacists released the "Rapid Response" EP earlier this month in response to violent demonstrations at the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, MN. Recorded live to tape in a matter of hours while the band was on tour, the EP is available from the Touch and Go label website at a number of pricing levels; all proceeds go to the Democracy Now! and Food Not Bombs chapters of St. Paul.

Leo's most recent full-length album, last year's "Living With the Living," was his fifth studio set and first since signing with Chicago indie label Touch and Go early last year. The LP was recorded at the rural Long View Farms studio in Massachusetts, and produced by Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty.
