Album chart: Metallica keeps 'Death' grip on No. 1

After racking up sales of almost a half-million copies during its abbreviated first week in stores, Metallica 's "Death Magnetic" moved another 337,000 copies during its second week out, enough to hang on to the No. 1 spot on the US album chart.

Following at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 is Ne-Yo 's "Year of the Gentleman," which sold about 250,000 copies, according to Billboard, which bases its flagship chart on Neilsen SoundScan figures.

Nelly 's "Brass Knuckles" makes its debut at No. 3 with sales of about 84,000 copies, Kid Rock 's "Rock N Roll Jesus" drops one spot to No. 4 on sales of about 64,000 copies, and Hootie & The Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker 's country debut, "Learn to Live," notches a No. 5 debut. (The latter set also claims the top spot on the Top Country Albums chart.)

Rounding out the Top 10 are Young Jeezy 's "The Recession" at No. 6, DJ Khaled 's "We Global" at No. 7, Buckcherry 's "Black Butterfly" at No. 8, Lil Wayne 's "Tha Carter III" at No. 9 and The Game 's "LAX" at No. 10.
