Bob Dylan lines up late-year tour dates, 'Bootleg' release
Bob Dylan has unveiled initial dates for a late-year US and Canadian tour that will launch soon after the latest release in his Bootleg Series of archival recordings.
The legendary singer/songwriter's next installment of his so-called "Never Ending Tour" (Dylan has averaged around 100 live shows per year over the last two decades) will kick off Oct. 23 in Victoria, British Columbia. The schedule currently spans 11 cities in Canada and northern portions of the US, with additional dates to follow, according to the performer's publicist.
A pre-sale event for the upcoming shows begins today (9/22). Complete ticketing information is posted at Dylan's website.
Meanwhile, the eighth installment of Dylan's Bootleg Series will ship Oct. 7. The forthcoming release, titled "Tell Tale Signs," will feature previously unreleased studio recordings and alternate versions spanning a 17-year period, from 1989 to 2006, according to a press release.
Previously unreleased songs on the album include "Red River Shore," "Dreamin' of You," and "Marchin' To The City" from the "Time Out Of Mind" sessions. The disc also includes "I Can't Escape From You," "Duncan & Brady," "Miss The Mississippi" and Dylan's first release of a Robert Johnson song, "32-20 Blues."
The set will be available as a standard two-disc version, as well as a deluxe, three-CD package, which includes a bonus disc containing 12 additional songs and a hardcover book of artwork from Dylan singles spanning his entire career.
The singer's most recent studio release is 2006's "Modern Times," his first new album of original material since 2001's "Love and Theft." The album shot to No. 1 on The Billboard 200.
