Lucinda Williams cooks up 'Honey' of a tour
Lucinda Williams has lined up a fall tour behind her forthcoming album, "Little Honey," which lands in record stores early next month.
The alt-country singer/songwriter, who recently polished off a late-summer round of West Coast dates, will launch her next outing Sept. 25 in Asheville, NC. The 27-city run, featuring support from Canadian indie-rock outfit Buick 6, is set to run through the middle of November. Dates are below.
Williams has been out supporting last year's "West," which reached No. 14 on The Billboard 200 and scored two Grammy nominations for the single "Come On."
The singer's next album, "Little Honey," is due to hit stores Oct. 14. The 13-track set features guest appearances by Elvis Costello, Matthew Sweet, Susanna Hoffs and bluegrass singers Jim Lauderdale and Charlie Louvin, among others, and includes William's take on AC/DC's "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)."
Williams' duet with Costello, "Jailhouse Tears," recently left a major impression on Paste Magazine, which listened to an advance copy of the recording and promptly ranked it at No. 5 in its list of all-time great country/rock duets.
