Secondhand Serenade, Cute Is What We Aim For team up
Acoustic-rock outfit Secondhand Serenade is currently headlining a US trek and will take a short breather before hooking up with Cute Is What We Aim For in late October for a co-headlining jaunt.
Secondhand Serenade, the solo project of singer/songwriter John Vesely, continues touring tonight (9/18) in Lubbock, TX, and will headline shows through mid-October. Those dates feature support acts I Hate Kate, Cory Lamb and Thriving Ivory.
After a brief break, Vesely will join alt-rockers Cute Is What We Aim For on a MySpace-sponsored tour that is set to launch Oct. 31 in Allentown, PA, and visit US cities from coast to coast into December. A Rocket to the Moon and Automatic Loveletter will support the outing, which is detailed below.
Vesely's Secondhand Serenade is riding high on its current gold-certified single, "Fall for You," which is holding steady at No. 8 on the pop charts. The singer/guitarist/pianist has performed the tune on TV shows including "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and the "CBS Early Show."
The song comes from Secondhand Serenade's sophomore set, "A Twist in My Story," which surfaced in February and reached No. 44 on The Billboard 200. Early next year, Vesely's label will release a deluxe edition of the album with new songs, acoustic versions and bonus material.
Cute Is What We Aim For is also supporting its sophomore effort, "Rotation," which entered The Billboard 200 at No. 21 earlier this summer. The set is the first CIWWAF recording to feature new bassist Dave Melillo, who replaced founding member Fred Cimato in March.
The band is on the road with Boys Like Girls this month and next. Those dates can be found at the Cute Is What We Aim For website.
