Nelly packs a punch with 'Brass Knuckles'
Rap star Nelly has a handful of concerts lined up to support his just-released studio album, "Brass Knuckles."
The performer will kick things off tonight (9/17) with a live performance webcast at the AT&T Blueroom website, and he'll appear on ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" tomorrow. After that, he'll hit the road starting Sept. 22 in Dallas and make his way up the East Coast and to over to the Midwest through early October. Details are listed below.
"Brass Knuckles" is Nelly's fifth effort and his first since simultaneously releasing his platinum-selling albums "Sweat" and "Suit" in 2004. The new record's lead single, "Party People" featuring Fergie," has reached the Top 40 on Billboard's Pop 100 chart.
The set also features star collaborators including Usher, Snoop Dogg, Ashanti, Chuck D and Pharrell.
Nelly has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and earned three Grammy awards, according to a press release. The rapper from St. Louis, MO, is also an entrepreneur who chairs his own record label, has two clothing lines and co-owns the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats.
Earlier this summer, Nelly joined the ownership team of the ZizZazz energy drink mix, and he'll promote the company in press, TV and radio commercials.
The rapper/actor also owns a St. Louis sports bar and grill, and founded two charitable organizations: Jes Us 4 Jackie and 4 Sho 4 Kids.
