AC/DC charges up for 'Black Ice' tour
As expected, iconic rockers AC/DC have rolled out plans for a massive North American tour in support of their forthcoming album, "Black Ice."
The Black Ice World Tour--the band's first worldwide outing since 2001--gets underway Oct. 28 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and two-dozen dates are lined up through mid-December, including a two-night stand at New York City's Madison Square Garden.
Tickets will begin hitting the box office Sept. 20, according to a press release, and additional tour dates in North and South America, Europe and Asia will be announced "shortly."
One week before AC/DC hits the road, the group will offer up "Black Ice," its first studio effort since 2000's "Stiff Upper Lip." The new collection--produced by Brendan O'Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam) and mixed by the band's longtime audio engineer, Mike Fraser--features the leadoff single "Rock 'N' Roll Train," which hit radio stations late last month and went to No. 1 at rock radio, according to Sony BMG.
The "Rock 'N' Roll Train" music video is set to debut Sept. 19 at the band's website.
On Tuesday (9/9), AC/DC released "No Bull: The Directors Cut," a newly edited HD DVD version of its July 1996 concert at the famed Plaza De Toros de las Ventas bullring in Madrid, Spain.
