Briefly: Smashing Pumpkins, Fatboy Slim, Robbie Williams, Cat Stevens, Len, 'N Sync Fans
Dance star Fatboy Slim (aka Norman Cook) told BBC Radio 1 that his new album will feature Bootsy Collins, Jim Morrison and two tracks recorded with Macy Gray.
Robbie Williams will release his third album "Sing When You're Winning" in the U.K. on August 28. The 12-track LP includes a duet with Kylie Minogue.
On Wednesday night (7/18), Yusef Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens , will give an interview on WMGK Radio in Philadelphia to discuss the rumors surrounding him and to answer questions. The radio station says that this will be his first radio interview since 1978.
Pop group Len played Canada's Calgary Stampede on Sunday (7/16), used a lot of profanity, won't be invited back.
Three Michigan teens walked 160 miles from Portage to Pontiac to see 'N Sync at the Silverdome and to raise money for charity, the Detroit Free Press reported. It took them eight days.
While the three young fans--Stephanie Flick, Sarah Hayes and Jamie Johnson--are to be commended, liveDaily Briefly would like to acknowledge the efforts of Jamie's dad, who, according to the paper (which didn't even print his name), drove his car in front of the walking children.
Okay, granted, it's hard work walking 15-20 miles a day. Fine. But they're teens, they're young, they can handle it. What about the dad, who spent eight days in a car driving, like, 5 miles an hour or whatever? You'd have to pay liveDaily Briefly to do that.
And when the kids get to the Silverdome, they get to watch 'N Sync: a highlight of their lives. The dad gets there, he gets to eat cheese and crackers in the Parents Room and listen to the other parents whine about, "Oh, I had to get off work an hour early to pick up Caitlynn and her friend and of course they weren't ready, and oh, the traffic! What a day!"
So kudos, Jamie's dad.
