Duffy takes North America this fall
Welsh singer/songwriter Duffy will return to North America this fall to support her debut album, "Rockferry."
She'll start with a Sept. 5 performance at New York City's star-studded "Fashion Rocks" event before kicking off a coast-to-coast US jaunt Oct. 9 in San Diego, and is scheduled to play more than a dozen shows, including several opening sets for Coldplay. Dates include a two-night stand with Coldplay in East Rutherford, NJ, and a stop in Vancouver. Details are listed below.
When her North American outing wraps Nov. 1 in Philadelphia, Duffy will head back overseas for a month-long tour of the UK. Information about those shows can be found at her website.
"Rockferry" surfaced last spring and climbed to No. 4 on The Billboard 200 with help from the lead single, "Mercy." The album remains in the chart's Top 20 after 14 weeks.
Duffy's followup single, "Warwick Avenue," is currently tearing up the European charts and the companion video has been nominated for Best UK Video at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.
The videos for all of Duffy's singles, including her latest, "Stepping Stone," are streaming at the singer's MySpace page.
Already a star in the UK, Duffy has been leaving her retro-soul mark on American audiences this summer with club/theater gigs and performances at major festivals, including Chicago's Lollapalooza.
