Michael Buble adds dates to 'Irresponsible' trek
Michael Buble has filled out the remainder of his 2008 tour schedule, adding dates to an October trek as he continues to support his Grammy-winning album from last year.
The Canadian standards/big-band singer will kick off the run Oct. 1 in Baltimore, with newly scheduled concerts extending the outing to 12 cities throughout the Midwest and Southern states. Details are below.
Buble continues to support last year's "Call Me Irresponsible," his third studio album, which which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and peaked at No. 1 in its second week on the charts. The set earned the singer his first Grammy award in February, when it was honored as Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
Consisting of standards including "I've Got the World on a String," "The Best is Yet to Come" and a gospel version of Frank Sinatra's "That's Life," the album also includes covers of Leonard Cohen's "I'm Your Man" and Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight," as well as two originals, among them the Buble-penned radio hit "Everything," which is streaming at his MySpace page.
Buble's latest album follows his 2005 platinum-seller, "It's Time," which remained on Billboard's Traditional Jazz chart for two years and won four Juno Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys).
In addition to the coming tour dates, Buble is also slated for a Sept. 5 appearance on NBC's "Today Show," as well as a Sept. 9 slot on CBS's "Late Show With David Letterman."
