Album Chart: Nas knocks Lil Wayne from No. 1 slot
Nas ' new, untitled album sold 187,000 copied during its first week in US stores, enough to earn the veteran rapper his fifth No. 1 album.
With that showing, Nas knocks Lil Wayne 's "The Carter III," which sold 105,000 copies over the past week, into the No. 2 spot, according to Billboard. "The Carter III" had spent three non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart, which is based on Nielsen SoundScan retail reports.
The "Mamma Mia" soundtrack climbs from No. 7 to No. 3 on sales of 91,000, while Coldplay 's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" falls from No. 2 to No. 4 on sales of 90,000.
The Disney "Camp Rock" soundtrack falls two notches to No. 5 on sales of 78,000, according to Billboard.
Rounding out the Top 10 are Kid Rock 's Rock N Roll Jesus at No. 6, John Mellencamp 's "Life Death Love and Freedom" at No. 7, David Banner 's "The Greatest Story Ever Told" at No. 8, Taylor Swift 's Wal-Mart exclusive "Beautiful Eyes" at No. 9, and Rihanna 's "Good Girl Gone Bad" at No. 10.
