The Hives hook up with Eagles of Death Metal
Swedish garage rockers The Hives will return to the US in September for a short co-headlining jaunt with California's Eagles of Death Metal .
As the Swedes so humbly put it in a press release: "The Hives will be returning to various raised platforms on which theatrical performances are given to bestow their sheer brilliance, incomparable riffs and rugged good looks in honor of the greatest stack of songs ever recorded, 'The Black & White Album.'"
The trek, which includes Willowz in the opening slot, is set to roll out Sept. 16 in Austin, TX, and visit Dallas, Tempe, AZ, and several cities across California. Details are listed below.
The Hives, who are currently tackling the European festival circuit, have been touring the world to support their fourth studio set, "The Black & White Album." Upon its US release last October, the record climbed to No. 65 on The Billboard 200 and spawned the the modern-rock hit "Tick Tick Boom."
Before the bandmates return to the states, they'll squeeze in a short tour of South America. International shows can be found at The Hives' website.
Eagles of Death Metal, a Queens of the Stone Age spinoff featuring Josh Homme and Jesse Hughes, is getting ready for the October release of its third album, "Heart On," according to various reports. The forthcoming set follows 2006's "Death By Sexy...," and the band reportedly expects to support it with a world tour.
