Britney Spears reportedly makes video for Madonna tour
It looks like Britney Spears will make an appearance on Madonna 's upcoming "Sticky & Sweet" tour, though fans shouldn't hold out for a live performance.
Spears is scheduled to record a video piece for the tour sometime this week, according to Access Hollywood, which added that the video's content is a secret. The news comes amid rumors that the troubled pop star would join Madonna live on stage. Madonna's camp has been trying to tamp down those rumors this week.
"I do not believe that Britney will be appearing live on the tour," Madge's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, told Access Hollywood.
The last time Spears appeared on stage with Madonna was at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, where the two shared that infamous lip lock.
The "Sticky & Sweet" outing is set to launch in late August with a month-long European run, and the North American leg begins Oct. 4 in East Rutherford, NJ. Madonna is scheduled to visit cities all over the US and Canada, as well as Mexico City, through late November. North American dates are included below and Madonna's overseas itinerary can be found at her website.
A majority of the shows are already sold out, including a four-night stand in New York City, and two-nighters in Toronto, Montreal, Chicago and Mexico City, according to the superstar's website. Her reps have said the world tour has already moved more than 1 million tickets.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is supporting her latest No. 1 album, "Hard Candy," which surfaced in April and has scored hits with "Give it 2 Me" and "4 Minutes" featuring Justin Timberlake. The set marks Madonna's 11th and final studio album for Warner Bros. Records, as she has signed an all-encompassing deal with Live Nation, putting her many music-industry ventures under one umbrella.
Madge's tour to support her previous album, 2005's "Confessions on a Dance Floor," landed in the record books for highest-grossing concert tour of all time by a female artist, according to a press release.
