Rage-Beasties Tour Adds Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale, Hartford Stops
update: Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Atlanta and Hartford, Conn., have been added to the itinerary for the Beastie Boys -Rage Against the Machine co-headlining tour, which is scheduled to get underway Aug. 2 in Toronto. As with the tour’s 11 previously announced stops, tickets will be available online through the ArtistDirect website before they are available at traditional outlets.
The online pre-sale for the Ft. Lauderdale and Atlanta dates are scheduled to begin on Thursday (7/13). Sales begin at regular outlets on Saturday (7/15). To participate in the pre-sale, users must first register with ArtistDirect, and are then given a password that allows them to purchase a ticket through the Ticketmaster.com site. (LiveDaily is a publication of Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch, which handles online ticket sales for Ticketmaster).
Tickets will go on sale Saturday through the Tickets.com website for the Aug. 11 Hartford show, according to ArtistDirect.
Rage Against the Machine and Beastie Boys will each donate a dollar per ticket to charities and activist groups. Rage will distribute its donations to as-yet-unnamed charities at the conclusion of the tour through the band’s Rage Against the Machine foundation. The Beastie Boys will donate their contributions to The Milarepa Fund, a non-profit organization that promotes “universal compassion and non-violent social change.”
