Alter Bridge takes summer swing through US
Rockers Alter Bridge will take to the road this summer as the group continues to support its sophomore album, "Blackbird."
The rock quartet--three of whose members are formerly of multi-platinum rockers Creed--will return to the stage later this month for a festival appearance in El Paso, TX, and a subsequent mix of festival appearances and headlining dates follow in July and August. Details are included below.
Following the US run, the group plans to mount a European outing, dates for which are available at the band's MySpace page.
Former Creed members Mark Tremonti (guitar), Scott Phillips (drums) and Brian Marshall (bass) teamed with ex-Mayfield Four frontman Myles Kennedy to form Alter Bridge in 2004 after splitting with Creed frontman Scott Stapp. That same year, Alter Bridge issued its debut album, "One Day Remains," on Wind-Up Records.
Despite the success of its debut, Alter Bridge began butting heads with Wind-Up, and ended up using personal funds to buy its way out of the contract, according to its bio. After writing new material and searching for another label, the members got tired of waiting and again dipped into personal funds to record "Blackbird" last year. Armed with the finished album, the group signed a deal with Universal Republic.
