Police Issue More Than 200 Citations At Wisconsin Phish Show

Ninety people were cited for possession of marijuana and 21 for possession of other drugs at Saturday’s (7/8) Phish concert at the Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, Wis. Authorities also reported that a man was killed after he was hit by a car in the venue’s parking lot following the show.

A Walworth County Sheriff’s spokesperson said that the concert attracted a capacity crowd of 35,000, but well over 1,000 ticketless fans also descended upon the area. In addition to the drug-related tickets, officers also issued 140 citations for underage drinking and more than 40 traffic citations near the venue.

In the parking lot after the show, a 30-year-old man died after he was run over a car, authorities said. Police believe was the man was sleeping under a vehicle in the parking lot and somehow rolled into the path of traffic. No charges were filed against the 16-year-old driver of the car.
