Amos Lee prepares for 'Last Days'
Singer/songwriter Amos Lee will head out on the road in July to support his forthcoming third album, "Last Days at the Lodge," which is due in stores next month.
The Philadelphia native--who boasts a hybrid sound featuring folk, soul and jazz elements--will kick off the outing July 8 in Kitchener, Ontario. The extensive tour stretches into late August and will hit more than 30 cities.
Before the headlining trek gets underway, Lee will make a pair of festival appearances, including May 25's UCLA Jazz Reggae Festival in Los Angeles. Details are below.
"Last Days at the Lodge," due June 24 on the Blue Note label, was produced by legendary studio presence Don Was (Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones), and features a veteran cast of back-up talent, including Doyle Bramhall, Jr (Eric Clapton) on guitar, Spooner Oldham (Neil Young, Aretha Franklin) on keys, Pino Palladino (The Who, John Mayer Trio) on bass and James Gadson (Bill Withers) on drums, among others.
The set follows 2006's "Supply and Demand," which was produced by Natalie Merchant's bassist, Barrie Maguire. Jazz vocalist Lizz Wright was among guest artists credited on the set, which peaked at No. 76 on the Billboard 200 chart.
