Eminem Reclaims No. 1 U.K. Album Spot
LONDON-- Eminem has climbed back to the No. 1 spot on the Official U.K. Album Chart as "The Marshall Mathers LP," which has sold over 300,000 copies in seven weeks, knocked Richard Ashcroft 's album "Alone with Everybody" down to No. 4 on Sunday (7/9). Meanwhile, Welsh singer-songwriter David Gray 's album "White Ladder" rose two places from No. 4 to No. 2 and Moby 's "Play" stayed put at No. 3.
R&B singer Gabrielle's "Rise" and Travis' "The Man Who" were also non-movers at No. 8 and No. 9 while Whitney Houston's "The Greatest Hits" jumped from No. 7 to No. 5 and Britney Spears' "Oops! I Did It Again" re-entered the Top 10 at No. 10.
In the singles stakes, however, the Corrs beat out Eminem as their new EP "Breathless" went straight to No. 1 on the Official U.K. Singles chart and "The Real Slim Shady" dropped to No. 2.
This week's Top 10 singles also saw many new entries with Limp Bizkit's "Take a Look Around (Theme From MI 2)" at No. 3, Oasis' "Sunday Morning Call" at No. 4 and Steps' "When I Said Goodbye/Summer of Love" at No. 5. Craig David also slipped into the singles chart at No. 6 with "Woman Trouble," Alice Deejay's "Will I Ever" debuted at No. 7 and girl band Atomic Kitten's "I Want Your Love" took the No. 10 spot.
