The Hush Sound follows 'Blues' on summer road trip
Currently on tour with Panic at the Disco as part of the Honda Civic Tour, alt-rockers The Hush Sound have lined up a summer headlining run behind a new studio album.
The Chicago quartet hit the road last month as part of the Honda Civic outing, which continues tonight in Toronto, with additional tour dates running through the middle of June. In July, the band mounts its own headlining run, kicking off July 7 in Pittsburgh.
Las Vegas-based power pop outfit The Cab will support on all 26 dates of the tour, which is set to run into late August. Details are below.
The group is supporting "Goodbye Blues," its third studio set and the follow-up to 2006's "Like Vines." The disc was recorded last fall in North Hollywood, CA, with producer Kevin Augunas (Cold War Kids, Jon Brion).
Released in March, the CD debuted at No. 75 on the Billboard 200 album chart, selling more than 11,000 copies its first week on store shelves.
"All of a sudden everything just clicked," said vocalist/pianist Greta Salpeter in a press release. "This record is the consummation of our unconsummated marriage."
The band issued its debut album, "So Sudden," in 2005. The disc was produced by Sean O'Keefe (Less Than Jake, Fall Out Boy) and Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump, after that band's bassist, Pete Wentz, discovered the Chicagoans and signed them to his imprint label on Fueled By Ramen, Decaydence Records.
