Testament backs 'Damnation' with world tour
This week, the band will head out for a couple of shows in South America and a month-long tour of Europe. The rockers will return to North America in July for a Canadian run with Judas Priest, which includes a July 26 stop at Ozzy Osbourne's Monsters of Rock Festival in Calgary. That trek will segue into the Masters of Metal Tour with Testament, Judas Priest, Heaven & Hell and Motorhead, which is scheduled to visit more than two dozen cities in the US and Canada through the end of August.
Testament plans to spend the rest of the year on the international circuit, traveling through far-off lands including Indonesia, Australia, China, Korea and New Zealand. North American dates are included below and overseas shows can be found at the band's website.
"The Formation of Damnation," which surfaced last month, is Testament's first new studio album in nine years. It also marks the first time in more than a decade that original members Chuck Billy (vocals), Alex Skolnick (guitar), Eric Peterson (guitar), and Greg Christian (bass) are together, along with recently recruited drummer Paul Bostaph.
A couple of songs from the new set are streaming at Testament's MySpace page.
The band is also revisiting some of its past offerings, having reissued 1997's "Demonic," 1999's "The Gathering" and 2001's "First Strike Still Deadly" through Prosthetic Records.
