Alkaline Trio adds second leg to summer tour

May 6, 2008 01:05 PM
Alkaline Trio has added an additional headlining run of shows this summer as the band gets ready to support its forthcoming new studio album, "Agony & Irony."

The Chicago-based alt-rockers have tacked the new leg, which launches in July, onto the end of their previously announced itinerary, which kicks off May 30 in Edmonton, Alberta. The new shows bring the spring/summer outing to around 35 dates, and will keep the trio on the road at least until early August. All dates are below.

A limited number of pre-sale tickets to the upcoming shows have been set aside for fans. More information can be found at the group's official website.

"Agony & Irony," Alkaline Trio's sixth studio album, is due July 1 on Epic. The set is the group's first album of all-new material since 2005's "Crimson," which peaked at No. 25 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

An EP (also titled "Agony & Irony") featuring three tracks from the new album, including the lead single "Help Me," hit online and traditional retailers late last month. "Help Me" is also streaming at the band's MySpace page.

Last year the group issued "Remains," a 22-track compilation album. The dual CD/DVD release features non-album sides that the band has recorded for compilations, EPs and international versions of its studio albums, along with a 45-minute DVD including all of the band's music videos from the three studio albums preceding "Agony."
