Wolf Parade returns with new album, summer tour dates
The Canadian act kicks off the run July 7 in Pontiac, MI, and will hit 20 cities on the outing, which stretches through early August. All dates are below.
Singer/keyboardist Spencer Krug and guitarist Dan Boeckner handled the bulk of the songwriting duties for the band's new album, which remains untitled. The disc is scheduled to hit stores June 17, following up on the group's critically acclaimed 2005 debut, "Apologies to the Queen Mary."
"After 'Apologies' we wrote about four or five new songs," Boeckner said in the band's online biography, "but we decided to throw them out because they sounded too much like what we'd already done. We could have easily made another 'Apologies' but what would have been the point?"
Krug and Boeckner have kept busy with several side projects since the band's first album, including Handsome Furs, Sunset Rubdown and Swan Lake.
"It's hard enough to get us all in the same room at the same time," Krug said, "so when we do get to write songs there isn't really time for our egos to get in the way."
