People in Planes plot dates in front of 'Horizon'
The quintet, which hails from Cardiff, Wales, showcased songs from the new set, titled "Beyond the Horizon," at Austin, TX's SXSW music conference in March. A new run of headlining shows kicks off May 1 in Seattle, the first date of a trek that hits 20 cities through mid-June. Details are below.
The group worked "with four producers in seven different studios across America, England and Wales," according to a press release, to produce "Beyond the Horizon," the band's follow-up to its 2006 debut, "As Far as the Eye Can See." The album is due in stores June 24.
"Touring for 'Beyond The Horizon' has felt like a re-birth in as much as we've spent a year fine tuning the record, and consequently every chord change feels like a special one," guitarist said Peter Roberts in a press release.
"The dynamic of the band is now even vaster in the lead vocals being a two-pronged attack, arrangements and sonic capabilities are even grander, but essentially song wise--people are already singing every word of our first Internet release 'Pretty Buildings.' Thank God for the web."
Streaming video for the album's first single, "Pretty Buildings," can be found on the band's official website.
