!!! bangs out summer road schedule
!!!--which is "pronounced as any sound repeated three times," according to the band's MySpace page, but is generally vocalized as "chk chk chk" or similar--is set to kick off the summer outing with a June 13 appearance at the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN.
The band will launch the headlining portion of the run July 17 in Boston, with 12 dates now booked for the season. The group's current schedule is included below.
"Myth Takes," the band's third album, hit stores in March, following up on 2004's "Louden Up Now." Recorded in Nashville, the album is the group's first with new drummer Jerry Fuchs, who replaced drummer/guitarist John Pugh. Pugh left the lineup last fall to concentrate on his new band, Free Blood, according to his publicist.
The group formed in the mid-'90s in Sacramento, CA, combining members of two of the town's hardcore punk bands--Popesmashers and Black Liquorice--into a new project that reflected the new band's desire to "play music in the vein of the stuff they were dancing to," according to the group's online bio. The act--members of which are now based in Sacramento, New York City, and Portland, OR--released its self-titled debut album in 2001.
